Sable is an atmospheric adventure game that takes you through a surreal desert world--though it's not one-note. Salt wastes and volcanic ashlands and scrublands and geysers feel like an acknowledgment of the diversity of real-life deserts, when so many other desert biomes in games resort to beach sand and cactuses. Not that I dislike those. They're classic. I just appreciate the variety here. :)
For my own purposes (mainly fanfiction-writing purposes), I am documenting NPC names/pronouns/professions/dialogue trees/quests, and the appearance/location/selling price of foraged items. I encourage you to make use of these resources as your needs demand.
